Working with the client’s design team, we performed an extensive remodel of this 5000 square foot home in San Francisco’s Lake District. The goal of the project was to open up the floor plan to provide better flow between the main entertaining and living areas and to provide the client a better connection to the beautiful scenery surrounding their property. By removing a number of walls and changing the layout of the kitchen, family room, and living/dining room, the clients have a home suited for today’s modern living standards. We replaced old small windows throughout the entire house with new floor to ceiling windows giving the homeowners and their guests great views of the surrounding Presidio National Park, Marin Headlands, and the Pacific Ocean. As part of the remodel, the house was updated with new high efficiency lighting, a whole house AV system, and new millwork and finishes throughout. Being a young growing family, the clients wanted to have a clean backyard/outdoor area where their children and friends can play. Accessed from the new kitchen french patio doors, we built a custom Ipe Deck and Built-in BBQ area which overlooks the newly landscaped backyard.
